SUBJECT:

WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 1 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST REGARDING ULTIMATE HEAT SINK (TAC NO. MD1460)

Dear Mr. Campbell:

By letter dated May 8, 2006, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) applied for an amendment to the Watts Bar Unit 1 Facility Operating License No. NPF-90. The proposed change would have modified the facility technical specifications pertaining to the ultimate heat sink temperature limit. Subsequently, by letter dated July 20, 2007, TVA withdrew the amendment request.

The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

Sincerely,

/RA/
