OF PUBLIC MEETINGS RELATED TO THE REVIEW OF THE WOLFCREEK GENERATING STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATIONThe U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted two public meetings related tothe review of the Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS) license renewal application submittedby Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC). The meetings were conducted on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at the Coffey County Library, Burlington Branch, 410 Juniatta Street, Burlington, Kansas. Approximately 40 people attended the meetings. There were no public comments or questions at either meeting.A combined listing of attendees for both public meetings is provided in Enclosure 1. Copies ofthe agenda and handouts provided during the meetings are included in Enclosures 2 and 3, respectively. Enclosure 2 Welcome to the NRC's Open HouseAssociated with the Proposed License Renewal For Wolf Creek Generating StationThis open house is intended to provide an opportunity for interested members of thepublic and interested staff from other Federal, State, and local agencies to interact with the NRC staff in an informal information exchange related to the proposed license renewal for Wolf Creek Generating Station. License renewal includes both safety and environmental reviews. Currently, the NRC isgathering information necessary to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) related to the proposed renewal of the operating license for Wolf Creek Generating Station. Please note that if you wish to provide formal comments regarding the scope of theenvironmental review, you must present them at either of today's transcribed public meetings or provide them in writing or electronically by January 29, 2007. Comments received after this date will be considered while developing the draft SEIS if it is practical to do so, but the NRC staff is able to assure consideration only for comments received on or before January 29, 2007.
