MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT (MNGP) - CORRECTION OF AMENDMENT RE: IMPROVED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (TAC NO. MC7505)
Dear Mr. Conway:
On June 5, 2006, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 146 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-22 for MNGP. The amendment converted the Technical Specifications (TSs) from the previous custom format to the Improved Technical Specifications (ITSs) format.
Subsequent to issuance, the NRC staff noted that, due to an administrative error, the direction of the allowable value sign for Function 2.i (regarding recirculation pump differential pressure -
high) was inadvertently reversed in Table 3.3.5.1-1, Emergency Core Cooling System Instrumentation. The associated Bases (a licensee-controlled document) correctly reflects the previous requirement as specified in the custom TSs, stating that the differential pressure (dp) switches will trip when the dp across the pump is greater than a pre-determined value.
The NRC staff regrets any inconvenience these errors may have caused you.
