Dear Mr. Grissette:
This refers to the Category 1 public meeting conducted at your request at the Region II office in Atlanta, GA on May 23, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. The meeting's purpose was to discuss recent RHR bypass line weld failures and Vogtles status of the Mitigating Systems Performance Indicator (MSPI). The licensee presented information regarding their actions to address equipment reliability that affects the MSPI and their root cause analysis of recent RHR bypass line weld failures. Enclosed are a list of attendees and the licensee presentation handouts. Members of the public were in attendance.
In accordance with Section 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
