Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit Nos. 1 & 2; Docket Nos. 50-220 & 50-4 10 Response to NRC Generic Letter 2003-01, Control Room Habitability -
Commitment Completion Date Change (TAC Nos. MB9825 and MB9826)
On June 12, 2003, the NRC issued Generic Letter (GL) 2003-01, "Control Room Habitability,"
requstig all addressees to submit information demonstrating that the control rooms at their facilities comply with the current licensing and design bases, and applicable regulatory requirements, and that suitable design, maintenance, and testing control measures are in place for maintaining this compliance.
By etter dated August 11, 2003 (NMP1L 1752), Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS) prowded the 60-day response to GL 2003-01 for both Nine Mile Point Unit 1 (NMP1) and Unit 2 (NIP2). Responses to Items l(a), 1(b), 1(c), 2, and 3 of GL 2003-01 were subsequently submitted by letter dated January 31, 2005 (NMP1L 1918). Attachment 3 to the January 31, 2005 letter provided a list of ahl regulatory commitments contained in the correspondence including a commitment to submit the alternate source term (AST) license amendment request (LAR) for NMP 1 by December 31, 2005.
The urpose of this letter is to notify the NRC that the NMP1 submittal will not be completed by the date cites above. By January 30, 2006, NMPNS will submit a follow up letter to provide revised submittal date for the NMP1 and NMP2 AST LARs.
