SUMMARY
OF NOVEMBER 16, 2004, MEETING TO DISCUSS OCONEE TORNADO-MITIGATION STRATEGY (TAC NOS. MC4608, MC4609, AND MC4610)
On November 16, 2004, a Category 1 meeting was held between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Duke Energy Corporation (the licensee) near the Oconee site in Seneca, South Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Oconee tornado-mitigation strategy. A list of the attendees is provided in Attachment 1. is the handout provided by the licensee during the meeting.
The licensee presented tornado-mitigation risks and potential modifications that would reduce these risks. The licensee stated that it is planning to submit in October 2006 a license amendment request that would address the Oconee tornado-mitigation strategy.
