The primary containment hydrogen analyzer is a Regulatory Guide (R.G.) 1.97 Rev.

2, Type C, Category 3 variable provided to diagnose the course of beyond design basis accidents. The primary containment oxygen analyzer is a R.G. 1.97, Type C, Category 2 variable provided to verify the status of the inerted containment.

The multiple noble gas monitors installed on each division of the Standby Gas Treatment system provide the necessary monitoring capabilities to assure that the normal and extended monitoring ranges required by NUREG-0737 and Regulatory Guide 1.97 are met.

The 92 day Frequency for the primary containment oxygen and hydrogen analyzers Channel Calibration (per Note 1 to TRSR 3.3.3.3) is based upon vendor recommendations and instrument accuracy requirements.

TRSR 3.3.3.3 is modified by Note 2 stating that performance of the calibration of the oxygen and hydrogen monitors may be delayed until after exceeding 15% RTP (i.e., the power at which Technical Specification LCO 3.6.3.1 requires the primary containment to be inerted). This delay is allowed for up to 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> for one oxygen and one hydrogen monitor, and for 7 days for the second oxygen and hydrogen monitor. These delays facilitate more accurate calibration methods, which can be employed with the primary containment inerted.
