July 24, 2003 Mr. John L. Skolds, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer AmerGen Energy Company, LLC 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, Illinois 60555

SUBJECT:

CLINTON POWER STATION, UNIT 1 - CORRECTIONS TO AMENDMENT NO. 156 (TAC NO. MB3578)

Dear Mr. Skolds:

By letter dated June 12, 2003, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued Amendment No. 156 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-62 for the Clinton Power Station, Unit 1. The amendment revised Technical Specification (TS) 3.6.2.2, Suppression Pool Water Level, and TS 3.6.2.4, Suppression Pool Makeup (SPMU) System, to permit draining the reactor cavity pool portion of the upper containment pool in MODE 3, Hot Shutdown, with the reactor vessel pressure less than 235 psig.

Your staff recently informed us of two administrative errors included in the Amendment. First, the amended paragraph 2.C.(2) of the Facility Operating License did not reference the associated Amendment number. In addition, Required Action A of TS 3.6.2.2 inadvertently introduced the word OR without an associated action.

Corrected pages to both the Amendment and TS 3.6.2.2 are enclosed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Douglas V. Pickett, Senior Project Manager, Section 2 Project Directorate III Division of Licensing Project Management Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket No. 50-461

Enclosures:

1. Corrected Amendment No. 156 to NPF-62
2. Corrected TS 3.6.2.2 cc w/encls: See next page
