CAUSE/CORRECTIVE ACTION/COMMENTS:

NARRATIVE REPORT Unit 1 began the month of July operating at rated thermal power. Shift reduced load to approximately 860 GMWe (-2650 CMWT) on 7/6/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift reduced load to approximately 520 GMWe (-1740 CMWT) on 7/12/02 to perform a control rod sequence exchange. Scram time testing, turbine control valve testing, and turbine stop valve testing were also performed while at reduced load. Shift began power ascension on 7/13/02 and the unit attained rated thermal power on 7/14/02. Shift reduced load to approximately 875 GMWe (-2680 CMWT) on 7/17/02 to perform a rod pattern adjustment. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift reduced load to approximately 860 GMWe (-2705 CMWT) on 7/18/02 due to elevated condensate temperatures and a decrease in main condenser vacuum. The unit was returned to rated thermal power on 7/19/02. Shift reduced load to approximately 855 GMWe

(-2650 CMWT) on 7/20/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power on 7/21/02. Shift reduced load to approximately 855 GMWe (-2645 CMWT) on 7/27/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift maintained unit operation at rated thermal power for the remainder of the month.

CAUSE/CORRECTIVE ACTION/COMMENTS:

NARRATIVE REPORT Unit 2 began the month of July operating at rated thermal power. Shift reduced load to approximately 870 GMWe (-2650 CMWT) on 7/7/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift reduced load to approximately 870 GMWe (-2650 CMWT) on 7/14/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power on 7/15/02.

Shift reduced load to approximately 835 GMWe (-2540 CMWT) on 7/21/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. Shift then increased power to approximately 98% of rated thermal and performed turbine stop valve testing. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift reduced load to approximately 875 GMWe (-2650 CMWT) on 7/28/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power on 7/29/02.
