NARRATIVE REPORT Unit 1 began the month of May operating at rated thermal power. Shift reduced load to approximately 890 GMWe (-2700 CMWT) on 5/11/02 to perform turbine stop valve testing. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift reduced load to approximately 860 GMWe (-2540 CMWT) on 5/25/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift maintained unit operation at rated thermal power for the remainder of the month.

CAUSE/CORRECTIVE ACTION/COMMENTS:

NARRATIVE REPORT Unit 2 began the month of May operating at rated thermal power. Shift reduced load to approximately 875 GMWe (-2650 CMWT) on 5/12/02 to perform control rod drive exercises and a rod pattern adjustment. The unit was returned to rated thermal power on 5/13/02. Shift reduced thermal power to approximately 96% of rated on 5/14/02, 5/15/02, and 5/16/02 to perform rod pattern adjustments. The unit was returned to rated thermal power each day, following the rod pattern adjustment. Shift reduced load to approximately 875 GMWe (-2630 CMWT) on 5/19/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift reduced load to approximately 900 GMWe

(-2705 CMWT) on 5/25/02 to perform turbine stop valve testing. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later that day. Shift reduced load to approximately 860 GMWe (-2540 CMWT) on 5/26/02 to perform control rod drive exercises. The unit was returned to rated thermal power later the same day. Shift maintained unit operation at rated thermal power for the remainder of the month.
