SUBJECT:

CLINTON POWER STATION - SUPPLEMENTAL INSPECTION REPORT 05000461/2021440 AND ASSESSMENT FOLLOW-UP LETTER

Dear Mr. Rhoades:

On June 3, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a supplemental inspection and discussed the results of this inspection and the implementation of your corrective actions with Mr. T. Chalmers and other members of your staff. The results of this inspection are documented in the enclosed report.

We performed this inspection to review your stations actions in response to one or more Greater Than Green findings which were documented and finalized in NRC Inspection Reports 05000461/2020403 and 05000461/2020404 respectively.

On November 20, 2020, you informed the NRC that your station was ready for the supplemental inspection. We determined that the identified causes and corrective actions were sufficient to correct and preclude repetition of the performance issue that led to the one or more security related Greater Than Green findings. Therefore, the performance issue will not be considered as an Action Matrix input after the end of the Second Quarter of 2021. Based on the results of this inspection and our Action Matrix assessment, the NRC has determined that Clinton Power Station Unit 1 will be transitioned to the Licensee Response Column (Column 1) of the Action Matrix on July 1, 2021.

No findings, violations of more than minor significance, or general weaknesses were identified during this inspection.

This letter will be made available for public inspection and copying at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html and at the NRC Public Document Room in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Part 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding. The enclosed report contains Security-Related Information, so the enclosed report will not be made publicly available in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1). If you choose to provide a response that contains Security-Related Information, please mark your entire response Security-Related Information-Withhold from public disclosure under 10 CFR 2.390 in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) and follow the instructions for withholding in 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1). The NRC is waiving the affidavit requirements for your response in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1)(ii).

Sincerely,

/RA/
