NORTH ANNA POWER STATION: OFFICE OF INVESTIGATIONS REPORT NO. 2-2011-009 AND NRC SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT 05000338/2011405 AND 05000339/2011405

Dear Mr. Heacock:

This refers to an investigation completed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

Office of Investigations (OI) on May 26, 2011, regarding the action of an employee at North Anna Power Station in Mineral, Virginia. The purpose of the OI investigation was to determine whether the employee willfully provided inaccurate information on an Owner Controlled Area Random Vehicle Search form. The enclosure to this letter provides the synopsis of the investigation.

Based on the review of the circumstances and the OI investigation, the NRC concluded that North Anna Power Stations actions in this regard did not represent a violation of regulatory requirements. In addition, North Anna Power Stations actions after becoming aware of the individual providing inaccurate information were appropriate. Accordingly, we plan no further action with regard to this matter. Should you have any questions, please contact us.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/NRC/ADAMS/index.html (the Public VEPCO 2 Electronic Reading Room). However, because of the security-related concerns contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letters enclosure will not be available for public inspection.
