Dear Mr. Sumner:
Thank you for your response of May 21, 1998 to our Notice of Violation,

issued on A3ril-21,1998, concerning activities conducted at your Hatch-facility.
We have evaluated your response and found that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.
With regard to Violation 98-01-06, on June 6. 1998, in a telephone conversation between NRC and Southern Nuclear Operating Company
-
representatives, the res)onse to Violation 98-01-06 was revised.
It is our understanding that tie appropriate procedure was revised on June 1.
I 1998 to require documentation of surveys performed in support of work activities instead of "in support of plant maintenance activities" only.
