This refers to the inspection conducted under the Resident Inspection Program by Messrs. L. J. Callan and J. E. Cunnins of this office during the period May 1-31, 1983, of activities authorized by HRC Operating Licenses DPR-51
,
and NPF-6 for Arkansas Nuclear.0ne, Units 1 and 2, and to discussion of our l
findings with Mr. J. M. Levine, and other members of your staff.
Areas examined during the inspection included licensee event report followup, operational safety verification, maintenance, surveillance and IE Bulletin followup. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective exami-i ation of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors. The' inspection findings are documented
l in the enclosed inspection report.

During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities were in violation of NRC requirements. Consequently, you are required to respond to these violations, in writing, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2.201' of the NRC's." Rules of Practice," Part 2 Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Your response should be based on the specifics contained in the Notice of Violation enclosed with this letter.
