This inspection was conducted to observe low level waste shipments and pack-aging,
'
Vehicle placarding, packaging conditicas, and labels were observed.
Radiation survays were conducted and removable contamination wipes were taken on the 23 shipments.
This ccmposite report details 20 shipments which were found to be in compli-ance with DOT and t1RC regulations.
The State of Washington was represented onsite during this inspection.
DOT representative was not present during this time period.
One container was opened and the results will be reported in a separate i'nspection report.

A State of Washington representative was present on site during this entire time period.
A representative from NMSS, NRC Hg. was also present on site during this period.
No DOT representative was onsite during this time.
One package was opened on December 5,1979 at acproximately 11:30 A.M.
Mr.
Robert C. Will, Supervisor, Radiation Control Program, State of Washington, was present during the opening.
The opening of the drum containing oily depleted uranium waste was completed without incident.
Instruments used for the surveys was a Minimonitor II, S/N 000358 due for calibration on 2/26/80, and a Technical Associates PUG-1AB, S/N 004280 with detectors P-6 (end window GM), P-7 (side window GM), and P-11 (pancake).
This instrument was also due for calibration on 2/26/80.
Wipes taken onsite were counted with the PUG-1AB utilizing the pancake detector.
Laboratory recount of the wipes was performed with an NRC S/N 000383 NMC Gas Proportional Counter, Model PC-55.
Results were acceptable.
