NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-269/97-09, 50-270/97-09, AND 50-287/97-09
Dear Mr. Hampton:
Thank you for your response of September 8, 1997, and your supplemental response dated October 9, 1997, to our Notice of Violation issued on August 4, 1997, concerning activities conducted at your Oconee facility. With regard to your denial of Example 1 of Violation A, we have reviewed the additional information provided, and agree, based on that information, that scoping of the Auxiliary Instrument Air system under the Maintenance Rule is not required.
As a result, by copy of this letter, Example 1 of Violation A is withdrawn. However, our followup of the Violation will include verification of the change to the UFSAR as discussed in your response. With regard to the remainder of your response, we have completed our evaluation and found that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201. We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions during future inspections.
