SUBJECT:
NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50 213/97 10 AND WORKER DOSE ASSESSMENT
Dear Mr. Davis:
The subject inspection report provided our analysir 't your occupational dose assessment for the workers involved in the November 2,1996, dirborne radioactivity event. The event was described and reviewed in NRC Inspection Report No. 50-213/96-12. Our preliminary review of your dose assessments was provided in NRC Inspection Report No. 50 213/97-01. As part of our assessment, an NRC contractor, ORISE, performed an independent dose assessment for the two workers who entered the fuel transfer canal. A copy of the report is enclosed for your information and will be placed in the Public Document Room in accordance with NRC policy.
No occupational exposures of the workers in excess of regulatory requirements were identified. However, in light of differences in final doses estimates, attributable to various assumptions made, you are requested to review this document and provide, within 60 days of t*-e date of this letter, your astimated final dose of record for the two workers, including your bases for the determination.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Sincerely, ORIGINAL SIGNED BY:
