Dear Sir or Madam:

Energy Northwest operates the Columbia Generating Station (Columbia) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) in accordance with the general license provisions of 10 CFR 72.210. The requirements of 10 CFR 72.212(b)(1)(ii) include the registration of a spent fuel cask within 30 days of using a cask for the storage of spent nuclear fuel. Accordingly, Energy Northwest provides the following registration information associated with the HI-STORM 100 spent fuel cask system placed into storage in the Columbia ISFSI on April 6, 2004.

Columbia Operating License: NPF-21 Cask Certificate: 72-1014-1 Cask Model: HI-STORM 100S MPC Serial Number: MPC-68 097 Overpack Serial Number: HI-STORM 100S (243) - 125 Number of Fuel Bundles: 68 Total Cask Systems Stored In the Columbia ISFSI: 12 HI-STORM 100 Casks If you have any questions about this letter or our dry cask handling operations under the general license provisions of 10 CFR 72.210, please contact Mr. Rolly Fuller, Reactor Maintenance Manager, at (509) 377-4148.
