Subject:
Revised Byron Station Response to NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2004-10, Preparation and Scheduling of Operator Licensing Examinations
References:
(1) NRC Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2004-10, Preparation and Scheduling of Operator Licensing Examinations, dated June 14, 2004 (2) Letter from Michael P. Gallagher (Exelon Generation Company, LLC/AmerGen Energy Company, LLC) to U. S. NRC, Response to NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2004-10, Preparation and Scheduling of Operator Licensing Examinations, dated July 14, 2004 In Reference 1, the NRC requested licensees to voluntarily submit a response concerning initial operator licensing examination needs, including an estimate of the number of applicants to be examined and intentions regarding the preparation of the examinations. Attachments 1 through 10 of Reference 2 provided the responses to RIS 2004-10 for Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) and AmerGen Energy Company, LLC (AmerGen) plants. Attachment 2 of Reference 2 provided the operator licensing examination information for Byron Station on NRC Form 536.
The current Byron Station operator licensing class was suspended to include additional Senior Reactor Operator candidates; therefore, candidates are being added to the Generic Fundamentals examination schedule in 2005 and the examination preparation and initial operator license examinations are being rescheduled to 2006. Attachment 1 provides a revised Byron Station NRC Form 536 reflecting the revised operator licensing examination data.
