Dear Mr. llaynes:

y This letter forwards interim Licensee Event Report 81-41/01-T required to be submitted within fourteen days pursuant to Millstone Unit 2 Appendix A Tec'inical Speci fications Section 6.9.1.8.C, abnormal degradation discovered on the reactor coolant pressure boundary.

The examinations required by Technical Specification Table 4.4.6 are continuing. A final report of the inspection results and corrective actions will be submitted when this work is complete and as required by Technical Specification 4.4.5.1.5.C.

An additional three copies are enclosed.
