Description

Unit 1 TS 3.4.3 required that 10 of 11 SRVs shall be operable during Modes 1, 2and 3. Contrary to this, on March 29, 2008, two SRVs failed to lift at the required technical specification (TS) setpoint during bench testing. A total of three of the eleven SRVs did not lift at the required TS setpoint at the conclusion of bench testing. The cause was found to be corrosion induced bonding between the pilot disc and seating surface. This condition was documented in CR 2008104090. This violation is of very low safety significance because a previous evaluation performed by the licensee bounds this condition and RCS pressure would be maintained below the TS safety limit
