Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Names New Resident Inspector at the Cooper Nuclear Station The NRC has selected Kent Chambliss as the new resident inspector at the Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska.

Chambliss joined the NRC in 2020. Prior to that, he served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Japan and Colorado and worked at the DUF6 Conversion Facility in Piketon, Ohio. Chambliss is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served for nine years as a submarine officer.

Kents training and commitment to safety will help the NRC in its mission of protecting people and the environment by helping assure that Cooper continues to meet the high standards set by the agency, said NRC Region IV Administrator Scott Morris.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

Chambliss joins senior resident inspector Andrew Siwy. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
