Victor Dricks (817) 860-8128 E-Mail: OPA4.Resource@nrc.gov Lara Uselding (817) 276-6519 NRC TO HOLD MEETING WITH NEBRASKA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT ON COOPER NUCLEAR STATION The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a meeting with officials from the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) on Oct. 27 to discuss the licensees actions to improve human performance and problem solving issues at the Cooper nuclear plant. Cooper is located 23 miles south of Nebraska City, Neb.

The meeting, which will be open to public observation, will be held from 1-3 p.m.(CDT) on Thursday, Oct. 27 in the NRCs Region IV office, 612 E. Lamar Blvd, Arlington, Texas.

NPPD officials will brief NRC staff on recent improvement efforts by presenting its corrective actions and efforts to address human performance and problem solving deficiencies detailed by NRC in the mid-cycle letter.

Observers will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff before the meeting is adjourned. Members of the public can listen to the meeting by calling 1-800-952-9677, and requesting to be connected to a phone bridge.
