PROPOSED TASK INTERFACE AGREEMENT (TIA) REGARDING THE l REVIEW OF GPU's SEPTEMBER 22,1999, RESPONSE TO THE l NRC's LETTER OF SEPTEMBER 2,1999 (TAC NO. MA5644) l Your assistance is recuested in determining whether the information sent by GPU, Inc., meets the criteria set forth in 10 CFR Part 20 Subpart E for the release of the property to be sold by GPU.

Your specific assistance should include the following:

1. Support NRR in the October 20,1999, meeting open to the public with the licensee and the State of New Jersey'at the site.

j 2. Conduct an independent confirmatory survey to validate the licensee's results.

l Coordinate with the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards as deemed necessary. Due date November 15,1999.

During your review, if you deem it necessary that additional information is needed to complete your review, please inform Helen N. Pastis, the Oyster Creek Senior Project Manager can be reached at (301) 415-1261. Please indicate in your request the regulatory basis and why you need this information to complete your review. If you need clarification of any information provided by the licensee, please inform Helen N. Pastis of your needs, and she will arrange a conference call to address your request.

This TIA should be completed within 45 days for NRR to adhere to its schedule. This short turnaround time is essential to support the licensee's action.
