| Event Description | The following information was provided by the licensee via phone and email:
On 1/31/2025, at 2015 EST, a technical specification required shutdown was initiated at Hope Creek Unit 1. Technical Specification 3.8.1.1.e. 'AC sources - operating' was entered on 1/31/2025, at 0735 EST, with a required action to restore at least one of the inoperable diesel generators to operable status within 2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br />. This required action was not completed within the allowed outage time; therefore a technical specification required shutdown was initiated, and this event is being reported as a four-hour, non-emergency notification per 10CFR50.72(b)(2)(i). On 1/31/2025, at 2121 EST, one of the inoperable diesel generators was restored to operable prior to the Technical Specification 3.8.1.1.e required time to be in hot shutdown. The Unit 1 shutdown was suspended at that time. Technical Specification 3.8.1.1.b remains active for one diesel inoperable. There was never an impact on the health and safety of the public or plant personnel. The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified. |
