Reevaluation of Post-LOCA dose levels inside containment by the Nuclear Engineering Branch has established a new maximum dose level of 4.7X108 l

rads. Exposed cables inside containment between penetrations and conduits are not qualified to this new maximum dose level.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

I Unit 1 on Mode 6 with all fuel loaded.

Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to inoperable equipment.

N/A Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

Reevaluation of Post-LOCA doses by Nuclear Engineering Branch.

r Analysis of Occurrence:

r There was no danger to the health and safety of the public.

Corrective Action

Engineering changes are being impicmented which will shield the cables in question and protect them from being exposed to the new maximum dose level calculated. This work will be completed prior to commercial operation.
