-! Cause of Occurrence:

Some gummy substance was observed on some switches between float bottom and top of spool bottom which might have caused a float to stick.

An:'l..i> of Occurrence:

There was no damage to plant equipment. There was no activity release, no personnel exposure or injury and no danger to the health or safety of the public.

Ferr"c*ive Action: Skitches were cleaned and tested; one was replaced. Efforts to identHy and remove substance from system are in progress. Seventy two additional switches were inspected and none were found stuck. Investigation of cleaning materials and techniq'ues is continuing. Action. required for unit 1 and 2 continue to be investigated. Recurrence control will be defined at close of evaluation.
