Additional observations: Revalidation of the Model No. JRF-90Y-950K Date: Thursday, January 5, 2023 9:37:00 AM

Good morning, Rick,

I went over the application again and noticed a few additional things. First, the Competent Authority Certificate No. is different from the one that was previously reviewed, but the Model No. is the same. I just want to ensure that it is the same package that has been previously reviewed by the staff. I am assuming that the different numbering is due to a different content, which is not a common practice in other revalidations that I have seen. I need this information to determine if this package corresponds to Docket No. 71-3036 or if I need to request a new docket No. Second, the documents downloaded to the NRCs box do not include the proprietary versions of the SAR. As you are aware, the staff needs the proprietary versions of the application to be able to proceed with the review. Lastly, I have the following questions of the information included in the document titled Revision Comparison Table for Type JRF-90Y-950K:

The document compares the 2017 version of the SAR with the 2022 version of the SAR There were some changes to the SAR due to a change in content in 2022, are any of the changes related to the 2022 version of the SAR applicable to this application? Is the 2022 version specific to the changes requested in this action and not to the changes in the revalidation recommendation issued in April 2022? What is the date or month corresponding to the 2022 version of the SAR?

Do the text highlighted in gray and the text in blue boxes correspond to the changes to the SAR from the 2017 version? There are instances in which there is a phrase Modifications reflecting the changes to the contents on the right-hand side of the page, but there is no text highlighted or marked as a change. It will be more efficient for the review to consistently mark/identify the proposed changes in the documents submitted in the application, including the SAR.

Section G refers to Articles. It will be helpful to have a correlation or road map of the relationship between these articles and IAEA SSR-6, 2018 Edition. This information should facilitate the review of the application.

Please contact me if you have questions about this and the previous email.

Thanks in advance, Norma

Revalidation of the Model No. JRF-90Y-950K

Hi,

Thanks. I will wait for the letter.

Please include a need date or month and year. Pierre mentioned a timeline, but I did not see it in my quick scan of the documents downloaded in the box.

Also, the applicant needs to ensure that the documents submitted as part of the application are fully translated to English. The following are some examples of text that needs to be translated:

Revision Comparison Table for Type JRF-90Y-950K SAR, Figures in section D.

Revision Comparison Table for Type JRF-90Y-950K SAR, a portion of the table of contents.

Thanks in advance

Good afternoon,

I received a heads up from Pierre about the submittal to you of the revalidation of the Model No. JRF-90Y-950K. I reaching out to you because I want to know if this revalidation will be sent out to NRC for review (and Bernie told me that you were back working and I saw that Bernie set up a box for the application).
