[External_Sender] NEI responses to the NRC staff comments on NEI 99-01, Revision 7 Date: Thursday, April 4, 2024 2:07:22 PM Attachments: Proposed resolution of NRC comments on NEI 99-01 R7.docx

Leslie,

Good afternoon.

Attached are the NEI responses to the NRC staff comments on NEI 99-01, Revision 7, provided to us during the public meeting on March 15, 2024. Our responses fall into three categories:

1. As requested, provided additional basis information supporting a proposed change - comments #1, #3, #7, #9, #10, #11, and #12.
2. NEI-proposed alternatives to address staff comments on the retention of EALs using precalculated effluent radiation monitor readings and FPB thresholds based on containment radiation monitor readings - comments
  1. 2, #4, #5, #6, and #8.
3. NEI-proposed changes to address two items that were discovered after the submittal of Revision 7 in January 2023 (one corrects an error and the other improves the wording of an EAL) - comments #14 and #15.

We look forward to discussing these responses with the NRC staff during our upcoming meeting on 4/16/24.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
