WEEKLY STATUS REPORT - VIRGIL C. SUPNER NUCLEAR STATION, l UNIT l OPERATING LICENSE APPLICATION

~ General The SER input. to the project manager (except for the Geosciences Branch) is scheduled for November 1,1980 for full power, fuel load, and dated requirements, SER inputs for the Geosciences Branch are scheduled for December 15, 1980.

l Significant Activities for Week of October 6,1980

1. A meeting on the security plan was held at the plant on October 6-7, 1980. No major problems remain.

2. A meeting on emergency feedweter system reliability was held on October 6-7, 1980. Several changes have been (or will be) made to the system to upgrade its reliability. This aree seems to be resolved now. .

3. On October 8, 1980, a meeting was held here to discuss RSB open issues.

Of the 33 open issues,19 were resolved at the meeting. The big probles area appears to be testing of the sump. ~

4. On October 9,1980, a meeting was held here to discuss GSB open issues. '

It is still not clear whether the response spectrum for the facility is acceptable. Another meeting may be necessary to resolve this issue.

5. On October 9,1980, a meeting was held here to discuss Technical l Specifications on administrative procedures. This meeting resolved all of the open matters in this area.

6. On October 9,1980, a meeting was held here to discuss the applicant's i preservice inspection program. As a result the applicant will submit a revised program by the end of this month.  :

7. The ACRS subcoussittee chaiman has informed us that he does not wish to

/ discuss the seismology' issues until the staff has issued its SER on these matters. Thus the proposal outlined in the status report for last week has been rejected. This has the potential for creating an  ;

additional slip in the schedule of one month. ,

1. October 14 - October 17, 1980 - Seismic Qualification Review Team j meeting at the plant. i

2. Applicant will submit revisions to emergency operating procedures. j

3. Applicant will submit revisions to emergency plan. >

key staff person for personal reasons.
