- 2. Use the following text for the purpose and scope of the amendment:
On October 9, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19296C938), as supplemented on April 9, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20108F317), and June 29 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20192A118)
NAC International (NAC) submitted an application for Amendment No. 9 to the Model No. MAGNASTOR storage cask. The application proposes add a new concrete overpack, four new heat load zone patterns, a new hybrid fuel assembly type, and reorganized the technical specifications.
- 3. The proposed certificate of compliance (CoC), Technical Specifications (TS), and preliminary safety evaluation report (SER) have been placed in ADAMS (see references below) and are available for your use in the rulemaking package. The Division of Fuel Management will designate these documents as Official Agency Records after the Executive Director for Operations has approved the rulemaking package (ADAMS Package No. ML20174A550).
The Office of the General Counsel has reviewed this memorandum with its referenced documents and has no legal objection to its contents.
