5. ED20200050, Submission of Responses to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Request for Additional Information for Amendment No. 9 to the Certificate of Compliance No. 1031 for the NAC International MAGNASTOR Cask System, April 9, 2020 NAC International (NAC) hereby submits a replacement page to Reference 3. Specifically, FSAR Page 2.2-5. This page contains a table which defines the maximum heat load per storage location, as shown in Figure 2.2-1. This table contains several numerical values that are incorrect and is directly used in the proposed Amendment 9 MAGNASTOR CoC Appendix B Technical Specifications. Thus, NAC is resubmitting this page with corrected values. Note, this table consolidated all previously approved amendments into one table. The values corrected are as follows:
  • Pattern C, Zones Bl, B2, and B3 - as discussed in the Reference 5 submittal, these values were inadvertently reversed; NAC corrected the proposed Technical Specifications but did not correct this table in the submittal; the values have been corrected to match the proposed Technical Specifications (i.e., Zone Bl should be 1,800 and Zones B2 and B3 should be 1,300 ED20200087

  • Pattern E, Zone C3 - this value has been updated to 1,000
  • Pattern G, Zones Al, A3, and C2-Zones Al and A3 have been updated to be 300 and Zone C2 has been updated to 650 The editorial corrections for Pattern E and G are supported by the existing analyses provided in the 19B submittal (i.e., Submittal 19B FSAR Figures 4.11-1 and 4.11-3). The heat load limits for Pattern C were approved via a previous amendment request.

In accordance with NAC's administrative practices, upon final acceptance of this application, the 19B changed pages (Reference 3) and this submittal's FSAR replacement page will be reformatted and incorporated into the next revision of the MAGNASTOR FSAR. NAC is requesting an effective date for this amendment to be prior to March 2021.
