REQUEST FOR INVESTIGATION As you already know, an NRC memorandum that appears to be a copy of my office copy was found about two years ago during an investigation being conducted by 01. The NRC memorandum was attached to a memorandum from George E. White, an employee of Middle South Services. Mr. White's memorandum indicated that the NRC memorandum had been obtained from a source inside the NRC and that its distribution should be limited to protect the source. Copies of Mr. White's memorandum and related documents provided during a recent hearing conducted by Senator Glenn on S.908, the "Inspector General Act Amendments of 1987", are attached. I request that you initiate, and complete as soon as possible, an investigation to determine hcw the NRC memorandum was obtained by Mr. White. In hindsight, perhaps I should have made this request two years ago.
