Neil, NRR is drafting a letter to Shadis that documents our position on this. We'll make sure you get a copy to refer to when you are talking with the reporter.

Rick, I tried to make it clear to the reporter that there was no intentional delaying on our part as far as responding to the petition. But your point is valid about the fuel movement being done before the petition was ever filed. Rather than a separate call about that, I'll raise it with the reporter the next time I chat with her, which should be soon.

See link below for article in Brattleboro Reformer, NRC Rejects Request to Halt VY Fuel Movement." We should consider a call to the paper to clarify that fuel movement for the outage was completed prior to 4/23 when we received the 2.206 petition. Quotes attributed to Ray Shadis leave the impression that we delayed action until after the fuel movement was complete which is not the case. It also appears that many members of the public will be on the 2.206 conference call.
