TO DISCUSS COMPANYS NUCLEAR PLANTS ON SEPT. 26 The Nuclear Regulatory Commission senior management will meet with senior management from FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. (FENOC) on Wednesday, Sept. 26, to discuss topics related to the performance of the companys three nuclear plants, which are located in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The plants to be discussed are Beaver Valley, in Shippingport, Pa.; Davis-Besse, in Oak Harbor, Ohio; and Perry, in Perry, Ohio.

The purpose of the meeting, which will be open to the public, is for FENOC to brief the NRC on activities and performance of its plants. The meeting will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. EDT at the Quail Hollow Resort, 11080 Concord-Hambden Road, in Painesville, Ohio. After the formal portion of the meeting is complete, members of the public will have an opportunity to discuss FENOCs performance and the role of the NRC in ensuring the safe plant operation with the NRC staff.

Meetings of this kind are held by the NRC periodically to enhance the agencys awareness of current and long-term programs, issues and changes across a particular companys plants.
