No: IV-13-003 February 19, 2014 CONTACT: Victor Dricks (817) 200-1128 Lara Uselding (817) 200-1519 NRC to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Status of Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will meet with Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) officials on Feb. 27 to discuss the status of performance improvement activities at the Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant. The plant, operated by OPPD, is located 19 miles north of Omaha, Neb.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Midland University (formerly Dana College, Gardner-Hawks-Center), 2848 College Dr., in Blair, Neb.

The public will have an opportunity to ask questions about the NRCs oversight of the plant following the business portion of the meeting.

The plant restarted Dec. 18, 2013, after a shutdown of 32 months, but remains under increased NRC oversight.
