Subject:

Response to FitzPatrick Question Mr. Blanch, I am responding to your email to Glenn Dentel regarding a radiation monitor in New Jersey that rose one magnitude in order above background radiation on June 27, 2016, and its relationship to the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant manual reactor scram on June 24, 2016. There was no abnormal radiation release during the June 24, 2016, FitzPatrick manual scram. Some oil was found on the lake and oil samples taken did not identify any radiation or contamination above the lower limit of detection.

Regards, Juan Ayala Acting Senior Project Engineer US NRC Region I - DRP Branch 5
