Entergy letter to NRC, "Anchor Darling Double Disc Gate Valve Information and Status," dated December 20, 2017 (Letter Number CNRO-2017-00025)

Dear Sir or Madam:

On December 20, 2017, Entergy Operations, Inc. and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy) provided information on Anchor Darling Double Disc Gate Valves (ADDDGV) for the Entergy plants. Attachment 1 to the letter provided information on each of the ADDDGVs installed in Entergy plants. Attachment 2 to the letter provided the footnotes associated with each valve and the specific commitments for repair, as applicable.

The purpose of this letter is to modify the commitment for a valve installed at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (PNPS). Consistent with the Boiling Water Reactor Owners' Group report, based on recent testing and analysis, the MO-1001-29B wedge pin is not susceptible to failure and this valve can be reclassified as a Priority 5 valve. As a result, since MO-1001-29B no longer requires repair, the commitment documented in the referenced letter has been changed as shown in Attachment 1.

Should you have any questions or require additio nal information, please contact Mr. John Giddens, Senior Manager, Regulatory Assurance, at (601) 368-5756.

Respectfully,

Mandy Halter Director, Nuclear Licensing
