By letter dated December 21, 2004, NEI submitted NEI 04-01 to facilitate the discussion withNRC concerning the information needed to evaluate a combined license application(ADAMS Accession Number ML050110295). Enclosed is a table (ADAMS Accession No.
ML051240323) which includes NRC staff first-round comments on portions of NEI 04-01. TheNRC plans to issue additional first-round comment letters on NEI 04-01, Revision D, with thegoal of issuing a complete set of first-round comments by the end of August 2005. Each comment has been numbered such that the NRC can track its resolution. The commentshave been segregated into either comments the staff believes are needed to make the guidance reflective of NRC regulations and guidance or suggested changes to improve theguidance.
