(Remisameasureofradiation.)TheNRCdoselimitforexposuretoanextremityis50remperyear.TheNRCconductedaninspectionatthefacilityonJuly5tolookintothecircumstancesassociatedwiththeexposure.Basedontheresultsofthatinspectionandinformationgatheredfrom thecompanyduringanAugust30predecisionalenforcementconferenceandsubsequent correspondence,theNRChascitedMallinckrodtfortwoviolations:failuretoensureradiation exposuretooneoftheworkerswasbelowregulatorylimitsandfailuretoperformadequatesurveysto precludesuchanexposure.Mallinckrodthas30daystopaythefineortoprotestit.IfthefineisprotestedandsubsequentlyimposedbytheNRCstaff,thecompanymayrequestahearing.
