B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant (HBRSEP), Unit No. 2, Technical Specifications (TS) Section 5.6.8, "Steam Generator Tube Inspection Report ," Duke Energy submits the enclosed report. The enclosure to this letter provides the steam generator tube inspection report information for Refueling Outage 30 (R030) required by TS Section 5.6.8. It is noted , the tabular information provided in the enclosure comprises historical information for all service-i nduced degradations. All new indications ident i fied during R030 are highlighted and labeled as " R030" and were inspected March 01 , 2017. There are no regulatory commitments made in this submittal.

Robinson Technical Specification 5.6.8 the following information is provided:

a. The scope of inspections performed on each Steam Generator (SG} Bobbin Examination
  • 100% full length (except Row 1 and 2 U-bend region) Array Examination
  • 100% TTS hot leg (TEH to TSH+4)
  • periphery

/open lane 5 tubes deep on both the hot leg and cold leg to the first tube support plate

  • Special interest/

Previous up to 300 tube/location total

  • 50% Rows 1 and 2 U-bends
  • 20% Row 9 U-bends
  • Dents/dings

>4 Volts MRPC Examination

  • RPG inspection (Plus Point) of all crack-like indications identified by array probe (excluding those exempted by H*) Visual Examination

  • Tube slippage monitoring (based on bobbin results) Tube Repairs

Non-destructive examination techniques utilized for each degradation mechanism The Non-destructive examination techniques utilized bobbin coil and Array probes for the detection of wear. Array and MRPC (Motorized Rotating Probe Coil Inspection)

Probes were utilized to characterize wear indications.

d. Location, orientation (if linear), and measured sizes (if available) of service induced indications Eighteen indications of Anti-Vibration Bar (AVB) wear were reported.

The deepest of these flaws measured 31%TW The maximum growth rate was 2.6 %TWI EFPY. Eleven indications of Tube Support Plate (TSP) wear were reported.

The deepest of these flaws measured 40% TW. The maximum growth rate was 1. 1 % TWIEFPY. One indication of wear at a Flow Distribution Baffle (FOB) was reported. This indication measured 13% TW Sixty indications of foreign object wear were reported.

The deepest foreign object wear indication measured 42% TW The complete listing for service-induced indications is attached.

e. Number of tubes plugged during the inspection outage for each active degradation mechanism No tubes were plugged in the A SG, one(1) tube was plugged in the B SG and five (5) tubes plugged in the C SG. The tube in B SG was plugged for wear at a tube support plate. Two (2) tubes in C SG were plugged for wear from a foreign object. Three (3) tubes were plugged preventively to bound a foreign object.   • There are 3214 tubes per generator.
g. The results of condition monitoring, including the results of tube pulls and in-situ pressure testing. As of R030, the Robinson steam generators have operated for approximately 26.4 EFPY since their installation in 1984. Condition Monitoring structural and accident induced leakage integrity was demonstrated for A VB, TSP, FOB and FO wear. 2 An NOE maximum depth call of 49. 5% TW or Jess for A VB wear is sufficient to demonstrate a minimum degraded tube burst pressure of 3l!P, 4350 psi, at 0. 95 probability with 50% confidence. The worst case depth call for A VB wear observed during the inspection was an NOE depth of 31%TW An NOE maximum depth call of 54. 5% TW or Jess for TSP wear is sufficient to demonstrate a minimum degraded tube burst pressure of 3l!P, 4350 psi, at 0. 95 probability with 50% confidence. The worst case depth call for TSP wear observed during the inspection was an NOE depth of 40% TW An NOE maximum depth call of 57. 0% TW or less for FOB wear is sufficient to demonstrate a minimum degraded tube burst pressure of 3l!P, 4350 psi, at 0. 95 probability with 50% confidence. The worst case depth call for TSP wear observed during the inspection was an NOE depth of 13% TW An NOE maximum depth call of 57. 0% TW or less for FO wear is sufficient to demonstrate a minimum degraded tube burst pressure of 3l!P, 4350 psi, at 0. 95 probability with 50% confidence. The worst case depth call for FO wear observed during the inspection was an NOE depth of 42% TW No degradation was detected in the plug visual or bowl cladding inspections.

No in-situ tests or tube pulls were performed. h. The primary to secondary leakage rate observed in each SG (if it is not practical to assign the leakage to an individual SG, the entire primary to secondary leakage should be conservatively assumed to be from one SG) during the cycle preceding the inspection that is the subject of the report. There was no leakage identified with in detectable limits. i. The calculated accident induced leakage rate from the portion of the tubes below 18.11 inches from the top of the tubesheet for the most limiting accident in the most limiting SG. In addition, if the calculated accident induced leakage rate from the most limiting accident is less than 1.87 times the maximum operational primary to secondary leakage rate, the report should describe how it was determined.

There was no leakage identified with in detectable limits and no calculated leakage from other mechanisms.

j. The results of monitoring for tube axial displacement (slippage).

If slippage is discovered, the implications of the discovery and corrective action shall be provided.

No tube slippage was identified.
