SUBJECT:

Certifications of Permanent Cessation of Power Operations/Permanent Removal of Fuel from the Reactor Vessel and Establishment of Credit Agreements - Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station

Dear Mr. Recchia:

This letter is to inform the Vermont Public Service Department that Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO) has certified that the fuel has been permanently removed from the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station ("VYNPS") reactor vessel and placed in the spent fuel pool on January 12, 2015. ENO also certified to the NRC that VYNPS permanently ceased power operations on December 29, 2014. These certifications notify the NRC that VYNPS will no longer operate the reactor nor retain any fuel in the reactor vessel.

Entergy would also like to inform the Department that Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee

("ENVY") closed on two credit facilities that will permit it to complete the planned spent nuclear fuel (SNF) loading campaign activities through the year 2020. This financial strategy should permit ENVY to minimize the use of the Nuclear Decommissioning Trust (NDT) from being utilized for those activities.

Should you have any questions regarding this information, please contact Joseph Lynch, Manager, Government Affairs, at 802-258-4107.
