I live within 5 miles of Indian Point, but other than physical proximity I have no connection to Entergy or anyone who works at Indian Point. You probably do not get much mail from people like me supporting Indian Point, because we have nothing to complain about. I and many of my neighbors are very happy with Indian Point in our backyard, and I would argue that the majority of the residents of Westchester support Indian Point. I believe in reliable local power and I am comfortable with the risks in exchange for emissions free power. The decommissioning of Indian Point can only be done with an increase in coal, oil or gas based power generation, which I do not support. My children do not wake up with asthma from particulates in the air and I would prefer it stay that way. If you want to improve the State of New York and protect the environment, please support a nuclear renaissance in New York and encourage the construction of new next generation nuclear power plants in New York. There are a number of locations in New York that would likely welcome the investment.

The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo Honorable Allison M. Macfarlane Governor of New York State U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission NYS State Capitol Building Washington, DC 20555-0001 Albany, NY 12224 RE: Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, Buchanan, NY

Dear Governor Cuomo and Commissioner Macfarlane:

I am writing to express my support for the Entergy Indian Point nuclear power plant in Buchanan, NY. I request that the NRC relicense the plant for continued operation.

A nuclear plant provides power for generations along with highly technical jobs. I would love to see new power plants built at Indian Point that would eventually replace the existing two operating units. This would establish Westchester County as a reliable source of power for years.

Governor Cuomo, if you want to improve New York State, instead of shuttering Indian Point, please repeal the absurd drug laws and release non-violent drug offenders from prison. That would save the state money and stop needlessly destroying families. Perhaps we can put the newly released inmates to work building our new nuclear power plants.

I am an attorney and a licensed professional engineer, and my wife is a dentist. I am raising a family in Westchester and I support Indian Point and nuclear power in New York.
