TheNRChaspreviously grantedapprovaloftheinitialevaluation foronefuelcyclebyNRClettersdatedApril1,1994,andApril5,1994.ApprovaloftheFractureMechanics Evaluation andtheIn-Service Examination Planisrequested byJuly1,1995,tosupportthenextUnit.2Refueling Outagewhichisscheduled tostartonSeptember 25,1995.FPLperformed theevaluation ofthepressurizer instrument nozzleflawsasdescribed inIWB-3600.

Basedontheresultsoftheevaluation, FPLhasdetermined thatthenozzlesmeettheacceptance criteriaforcontinued servicewithouttheflawsbeingremoved.Attachments AandBconcludethatthenozzlesareacceptable foranadditional 30yearsofplantlife.Theareacontaining theflawwillbeperiodically examinedasdescribed inAttachment C.Pleasecontactusifthereareanyquestions aboutthissubmittal.
