Dear Mr. Conboy:

This refers to an investigation conducted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

Office of Investigations (OI) to determine whether a radiation protection general supervisor at Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant was discriminated against by management for raising nuclear safety concerns. Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, we did not substantiate the allegation. The synopsis from the OI Report of Investigation is enclosed.

OI Synopsis This investigation was initiated on February 21, 2020, by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Office of Investigations, Region III, to determine whether a radiation protection (RP) general supervisor at Xcel Energys Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant (Monticello) in Monticello, Minnesota, was discriminated against by management for raising nuclear safety concerns.

Based on the evidence developed, the allegation that an RP supervisor at Monticello was discriminated against by management for raising nuclear safety concerns is not substantiated.
