A. Background
 
: 1. Originally, the EDO proposed development of a Generic Issue Management System (GIMS) with NRR. GIMS would track issues affecting power reactor licenseec with generic implications.

: a. GIMS has now been expanded for Core,ission wide use and renamed                                 l SIMS.

: b. SIMS is in the development / expansion phase and is currently run from the NIH mainframe.                                                                     .
