DRAFT INSPECTION PROCEDVRE 89100. "USE OF I PERFORMANCE INDICATORS TO IDENTIFY LICENSEES l FOR ENHANCED I!!SPECTION/ ATTENTION This is in response to your menorandum of April 21, 1987 concerning the use of )
performance indicators at materials licensees.
With respect to draft Inspection Procedure 89100, one typographical error in section OS.01(b) was observed. The word " political" should be changed to the word " potential." Region II supports the issuance of this inspection l protecure; we have been using the approach specified in the procedure for some' time now. 1 l
Although we prepared the initial draft of the fuel facility performance indicators, we are not completely satisfied that we have captured the most appropriate elements. Our review is, therefore, continuing. . We will respond on this subject in the near future under separate cover. We are slso very '
interested in gaining additional insight from the other Regions in this regard.
