2) Letter from the Technical Specification Task Force to NRC, "Revision to Scheduled Response Date for NRC Request for Additional Information Regarding TSTF-493, Revision 2, "Clarify Application of Setpoint Methodology for LSSS Functions," dated October 31, 2007

Dear Sir or Madam:

In Reference 1, the NRC provided a Request for Additional Information (RAI) regarding TSTF-493, Revision 2, "Clarify Application of Setpoint Methodology for LSSS Functions." A response was requested within 90 days. In Reference 2, the Technical Specification Task Force (TSTF) notified the NRC that the response to the RAI would not be submitted to the NRC until December 21, 2007.

This letter is to inform the NRC that the TSTF will need additional time to respond to the RAI and to provide a corresponding revision to TSTF-493. Development of the RAI response and the corresponding revision to TSTF-493 has required significant industry resources which exceeded the available funding for this effort and required obtaining additional funding to complete the response to the RAI. This approval process delayed the response to the RAI. Our revised response date is January 18, 2008.
