By Reference (a), R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant (REG) submitted a response to a previous Request for Additional Information. By Reference (b), U.S. Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff asked for more specific information. To clarify this request, a conference call was held with NRC st aff and REG on March 25, 2014.
During the conference call, REG clarified the initial containment wall temperature used in the Ginna containment response analyses of the Main Steam-Line Break (MSLB) and La rge-Break Loss-of-Coolant Accident (LBLOCA). This is to confirm the informati on that was provided at the conference call. The License Amendment Request dated February 28, 2013 (Reference (c), Attachment (1), p. 5) stated that the temperature of the containment heat sinks was increased from 120°F to 125°F for the MSLB analysis. During the conference call, REG clarified that the contai nment response analyses for both th e MSLB and LBLOCA that support the License Amendment Request dated February 28, 2013 (R eference (c)) used an initial wall temperature of 125°F.
