Theassessment periodcoveredapproximately twoandonehalfyearsofoperation (January1994toJune1996).Theattachedassessment identifies somefundamental issuesthatarebeingaddressed.

Themanagement initiatives toaddresstheseissu'eswillbefinalized byOctober11,1996.Wewillprovideyouwithacopyoftheseinitiatives uponcompletion.

AlthoughSt.Lucieremainsagoodperformer, asnotedinourlastratingsfromtheNRC,wewillnotbesatisfied untilourstandards ofexcellence aremet.Theattachedself-assessment wasdesignedtobecriticaloftheplant'sperformance anddoesnotfocusonareasofstrength.

Itspurposewastoidentifyareasofimprovement soSt.Luciecanreturntoitsoutstanding levelofperformance asoneofthebestplantsinthenuclearindustry.
